Welcome to East Elementary. Built in 1963, East Elementary is one of the longest serving elementary buildings in the Ankeny Community School District. Serving as a two section building, East Elementary is home to nearly 300 students and 44 staff members. Ms. Julianne Steven serves as the building principal.
East Elementary provides a strong academic, social and emotional educational experience for our students. We deliver a high quality curriculum using a wide variety of instructional strategies. Our staff believes every child can and will learn and they work tirelessly to realize this belief. We want all of our students to succeed! Our school offers a variety of support services in the area of child guidance, special education, talented and gifted (AELP), English as a Second Language (ESL) and literacy enhancement through Title 1 services.
We encourage everyone to get involved in our school. This can be accomplished through volunteerism in the classroom as well as participating in the Parent/Teacher Organization (PTO). Please contact the school to learn about ways to become involved.
